Chapter Present Tense

The Simple Present defines a permanent state.
He lives in London.

It also describes a habit.
He always takes a rest after the lunch.

It gives the possibility to express successive actions.
He takes the ball and gives it to the number 11.

As for the conjugation, the verb doesn't vary except for the third person singular, when adding an « s » at the end of the verb.

Example : Conjugation of the verb « to look ».
I look
You look
He/She looks
We look
They look

Particular case : If the verb ends in a vowel, an « es » is added at the end of the verb conjugated at the third person singular.
Example : In the third person singular, the verb « to do » is conjugated in the following way : He does.
